Why are breast reductions becoming so popular?  First of all if your breasts are too large it is difficult to find clothes to fit. You might end up wearing plus sizes even though the rest of your body is small just to accommodate your large breasts.  Another problem is that women with large breasts are often not taken a seriously or perceived as intelligent as women with small breasts. Gynecomastia is a medical term that comes from the Greek words for "women-like breasts."  It is very common and affects estimated 40 to 60 percent of men. It may affect only one breast or both. In the vast majority of cases there is no known cause for the disorder, which can have many males feeling very self-conscious about their appearance.

Men get a breast reduction for the same reason that women must – to relieve back pain, rashes and personal embarrassment. If male breast reduction surgery is required because the man is suffering from a type of hormonal disorder that can cause the breasts to grow like a woman’s then the operation may not be considered as merely cosmetic and be covered by health insurance. However if the swelling male breasts are the result of obesity you may be out of luck getting male breast reduction surgery covered by insurance.
