Wrinkle Reduction Creams

The biggest new development in wrinkle reduction creams of this decade so far has been a wrinkle cream manufactured by Botox, the company that makes paralytic substance that is injected into the face to reduce wrinkles. The cream, marketed as Prevage, contains a powerful antioxidant called idebenone, which is supposed to protect against harmful contaminants such as air pollution and cigarette smoke. Last a more affordable similar treatment called Dream Cream that also contains idebenone was developed. Dermaglow also makes a cheaper product containing this substance. All of these wrinkle reduction creams   promise the softening of fine lines within three months.  As these products are new the jury is still out regarding whether or not they actually reverse aging.

Antioxidants are more than just the latest trend when it comes to the ideal anti wrinkle cream. They are a mainstay in wrinkle reduction creams. Antioxidant nutrients are substances derived from natural food sources that defend our body against the ravages of free radicals. Free radicals mutate skin cells and are the result of natural aging, smoking, too much sunlight or a bad diet.  The most common antioxidants that you will find in anti wrinkle creams are Vitamin C and E.  Vitamin C encourages healing and stimulates the growth of new collagen. Several studies have shown that these can reduce the signs of wrinkles, especially when combined with vitamin E. S.O.D is one of the most powerful and proven substances known for helping reduce the severity of facial wrinkles. S.O.D. is a powerful antioxidant that scavenges free radicals and detoxifies skin cells. Its main benefit is to help skin cells replace themselves at a rapid rate, which helps you to look young. SOD is an enzymatic substance and not a substance or drug and very safe for men and women of all ages to use.

SOD is found in both the dermis and the epidermis, and is key to the production of healthy fibroblasts (skin-building cells).

Another mainstay ingredient in wrinkle reduction creams is retinol A, which is an anti-aging vitamin component that is also often prescribed with dermatologists. It is used to help turn over old skin cells so that they can be replaced with new skin cells. Most wrinkle reduction formulas that contain retinol A also contain Vitamin C and E to help heal the skin.

Otherwise cosmetic companies are sticking with what they know, turning out newer and more improved wrinkle reduction cream products that are based on silicate and fruit acid based formulas.  Although not as effective, they still help still the hands of time.   Worthy and affordable brands are the wrinkle creams offered by L’Oreal, Vichy, Dermaglow, Le Modele, Le Garnier, Le Mer, Chanel, Lancome, Le Roche and L’Oreal.
