Nose Lift (Rhino-septoplasty)A nose lift or rhino-septoplasty is primarily performed to improve the look of aging noses. As we get older the nose’s structure develops a loss of support in its lower one third. The tip also can start to droop which can also make it appear longer. A hump can even appear on the nose as a result of this loss of tissue support. This loss of support can be so extreme that a nasal passage can be blocked.
To correct these flaws flesh may be excised off the end of the nose and redone and the nose may be pulled on the inside of the nasal passage so it looks perkier and younger.
This is not minor surgery and it usually requires anaesthesia and a long recovery time of a few weeks. It is not suitable for smokers or very elderly patients. A skilled plastic surgeon and one that preferable specialises in rhinoplasties should always perform this type of operation.
