Organic Hair Products

Organic hair products are a bit undefinable as there is no standard that says what type of product can be called organic or not. Any product can be certified by going to companies that specialize in the practice and asking for the certification. The government is not involved in the certification of cosmetics as organic. The fact that there is not real standard about what is organic in the hair product industry means that even the most natural sounding of hair products can have quite a few chemicals in their composition.

Technically organic products must be made out of fruits; oils or other natural substances that have been grown organically like organic oranges or organic jojoba oil. However a hair product does not have to call itself ‘certified organic.” It can simply refer to itself as simply “organic” because it is using natural scents or ingredients. To find truly organic hair products look for the “certified organic” phrase on the label and not just the word “organic”.
