Pilates Canberra

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. The exercise program focuses on strengthening the core muscles of the body – especially the lower back and the abdomen.
The goal of Pilates exercise is to condition the entire body so that one moves with strength and grace without ever having to think about it. There is a focus on the proper alignment of the spine, on centring concentration, on being precise about one’s movements and on one’s breathing. Mastering Pilates means to be able to do all of the postures in a fluid manner.
Every movement in the Pilates method has an intention that must be fulfilled. Every par of each move is vitally important to the success of the whole. To leave out any detail is to forsake the intrinsic value of the exercise. This is why some people find Pilates very strenuous and in fact it is not necessarily recommended as a physical fitness regime for pregnant women.
