As we get older the nose’s structure develops a loss of support in its lower one third. The tip also can start to droop which can also make it appear longer. To correct these flaws flesh may be excised off the end of the nose and redone and the nose may be pulled on the inside of the nasal passage so it looks perkier and younger.
This is not minor surgery and it usually requires anaesthesia and a long recovery time of a few weeks. It is not suitable for smokers or very elderly patients. A skilled plastic surgeon and one that preferable specialises in rhinoplasties should always perform this type of operation.
