Physiotherapy Procedures Melbourne
Physiotherapy procedures are most often recommended after you have had an operation or if you need to recover from an injury of some kind. These usually consist of a series of specific exercises that are used to build muscle and heal tissue. These exercises are repeated again and again in an attempt to heal the body by encouraging it to have the same range of notion that it did before it was injured.
Physiotherapy is also sometimes done in water or in a pool if joints are involved. This allows the limb to be moved without putting any stress on the joints or injured parts of the body. Usually an attendant known as a physiotherapist assists in this process by spotting the individual that is being treated and making sure the person is doing the physiotherapy exercises properly so that they can get the maximum healing benefit out of it.
If the physiotherapy is for something like arthritis then a tub of paraffin wax may be provided to provide relief to sore or aching muscles.
