Facial therapy is a term that refers to any type of treatment that helps heal the effects of aging. This includes applying creams to minimise the effects of wrinkles, exfoliating the face in order to remove surface skin cells and massaging the face in order to discourage the development of wrinkles.

Botox and other types of injections that used to do things like plump up the lips or plump up wrinkles with the body’s own fat or synthetic fat also qualify as facial therapy.

Treatments for acne, blackheads and whiteheads with special creams that contain vitamin A or fruit and milk based acids can also qualify as being facial therapy.

In essence any type of procedure that improves the texture, colour and surface of the complexion in any way can qualify as facial therapy. Even procedures that are laser-based, such as the use of a laser to remove sunspots or freckles can be referred to sometimes as facial therapy.
